Information You Provide

RestoCalculator has no contact form and no other form that visitors can submit. Our contact page simply publishes an email address, so if you get in touch you do so from your own email account and your message never passes through this website. We then hold whatever you chose to put in that email — typically your name, your email address and the content of your message — in our mailbox, and use it only to reply to you. RestoCalculator does not otherwise ask visitors to submit personal information, and there is no account system to sign up for.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, the servers and hosting infrastructure that deliver RestoCalculator may automatically record standard technical information with each request, such as IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, referring pages and the date and time of the request. This is a routine function of web server software rather than a purpose-built tracking system, and RestoCalculator does not currently combine this information with any analytics or advertising service.

Calculator Information

Details on the values you enter into a calculator are covered separately below in Calculator Data.

Every RestoCalculator tool — including the Food Cost, Menu Price, Restaurant Profit, Break-Even, Labor Cost, Tip and Table Capacity calculators — runs entirely in your browser. The values you type into a calculator are processed on your device with JavaScript to produce the displayed result.

Calculator inputs are not sent to a RestoCalculator server, are not stored in a database or user account, and are not saved in your browser’s local or session storage. Once you close or refresh the page, the values and result are gone. Standard web server request logging as described in Information We Collect may still apply to the page request itself, but not to the numbers you enter into a calculator.

RestoCalculator keeps the number of third-party services to a minimum. The website’s fonts (Bricolage Grotesque and Inter), scripts and styles are all self-hosted, so your browser does not contact any third-party server while you browse. At the time of writing, the only service provider involved in running the website is:

RestoCalculator does not currently use analytics, advertising, payment processing, visitor authentication or any form-handling service — there is no form on the website to handle. If a new third-party service is added to the website, this section will be updated to name it and explain what it does.

We take reasonable measures designed to help protect information processed through the website, such as serving the site over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and RestoCalculator cannot guarantee absolute security.

RestoCalculator is intended for a general, professional audience — such as restaurant owners, operators and chefs — and is not specifically directed to children. The website does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and does not include an age-verification system.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, services or legal obligations change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. We do not currently notify visitors of changes individually, since there is no account or subscription system through which to do so.
