Information You Provide

RestoCalculator has no contact form and no other form that visitors can submit. Our contact page simply publishes an email address, so if you get in touch you do so from your own email account and your message never passes through this website. We then hold whatever you chose to put in that email — typically your name, your email address and the content of your message — in our mailbox, and use it only to reply to you. RestoCalculator does not otherwise ask visitors to submit personal information, and there is no account system to sign up for.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, the servers and hosting infrastructure that deliver RestoCalculator automatically record standard technical information with each request, such as IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, referring pages and the date and time of the request. A security plugin installed on our server (Wordfence) may also examine these requests to detect and block attacks.

When a page loads, your browser also contacts Google to display ads and Google’s consent message. Google receives information such as your IP address, device and browser details, the page you are viewing and, where permitted, identifiers stored in cookies. How this works, and the choices you have, are described in Cookies and Similar Technologies and Advertising.

RestoCalculator does not currently use any analytics or session-recording tool.

Calculator Information

Details on the values you enter into a calculator are covered separately below in Calculator Data.

Every RestoCalculator tool — including the Food Cost, Menu Price, Restaurant Profit, Break-Even, Labor Cost, Tip and Table Capacity calculators — runs entirely in your browser. The values you type into a calculator are processed on your device with JavaScript to produce the displayed result.

Calculator inputs are not sent to a RestoCalculator server, are not stored in a database or user account, are not saved in your browser’s local or session storage, and are not passed by RestoCalculator to Google or any other third party. Once you close or refresh the page, the values and result are gone. Standard web server request logging as described in Information We Collect still applies to the page request itself, but not to the numbers you enter into a calculator.

RestoCalculator uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Ads, when shown, are selected and served by Google and its partners, not by RestoCalculator. The Google advertising code is loaded on every page, whether or not an ad appears on it.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this website and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
• Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland can see the advertising partners involved, and accept or refuse each of them, in the consent message and through the “Privacy and cookie settings” link in the footer.

Our hosting is in France. Google and Defiant may process data in the United States and other countries. Such transfers rely on the safeguards these providers put in place, such as certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

We take reasonable measures designed to help protect information processed through the website, such as serving the site over HTTPS and using a security plugin. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and RestoCalculator cannot guarantee absolute security.

This section supplements the rest of this policy for visitors in the United States, including the disclosures required by the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

Categories of information and who receives it

The categories of personal information collected through the website are those described in Information We Collect: technical request data such as IP address and device and browser details, cookie identifiers used for advertising, and the contents of any email you send us. They are shared with the service providers listed in Third-Party Services.

Third-party tracking

Google and its advertising partners may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use RestoCalculator, as described in Advertising.

Opting out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising

In US states whose privacy laws give you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising, Google’s privacy message provides a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on this website. Using it records your opt-out and limits how Google processes your data for ads on this website. Google also honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out in the states where its policies provide for it. You can also email us with any request.

Do Not Track

RestoCalculator does not respond differently to “Do Not Track” browser signals, because there is no common standard for them. Use the choices described above instead.

Reviewing and changing your information

RestoCalculator does not keep visitor accounts or profiles. To ask about information relating to you, email contact@restocalculator.com. Changes to this policy are announced as described in Changes to This Privacy Policy.

The website may link to third-party websites, such as the CNIL and Google pages referenced above. RestoCalculator is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external sites, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
